Welcome to Joyful Movement & Jolly Steps – an initiative by Shane Warren Coaching & Counselling Services, in collaboration with Kait Luker and Jeff Lou. Together, we understand the real-life challenges and motivational barriers that can make regular exercise feel daunting.

That’s why we’ve created Joyful Movement – a fun, inclusive approach to physical activity that focuses on enjoying how we move our bodies, rather than just hitting fitness targets. We know exercise brings happiness and health, but not everyone feels naturally motivated to "go-go-go."

Our mission? To build a social movement where laughter, conversation, and connection are just as important as the steps we take. Join us for a relaxed, supportive way to move your body, meet new people, and achieve your exercise goals—together!

How does it work?

Our approach is simple yet effective: we apply the "power of three." Research shows that the human mind and body respond well to patterns of three, so we’ve designed a program that encourages you to complete three activities per week, in three-week cycles.

 

Each term runs for 9 to 12 weeks, with multiple class options throughout. To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience, we encourage participants to book their spots in advance. This helps us manage class sizes and, most importantly, gives you a little mental nudge—people are more likely to show up when they've already committed by booking and paying ahead!

How do I join in?

We offer several flexible options to make it easy for you to get involved:

  • Free: Join our online challenges and small group classes at no cost! Keep an eye out for these opportunities below.

  • Pay-as-you-go: Some of our programs have a small fee to cover costs. Check out our upcoming sessions and join when it suits you.

  • Term-Block Unlimited: For those who want more flexibility, we offer unlimited access to classes within each term block. Watch for these subscription options.

General

  1. By agreeing to take part in classes, workshops, and personal training sessions provided by the team at Joyful Movement and Jolly Steps by Shane Warren Coaching & Counselling Services you agree to adhere to the following terms and conditions.

  2. The team at Joyful Movement and Jolly Steps by Shane Warren Coaching & Counselling Services personal training accepts no liability for any injury occurring as a result of taking part in classes, workshops, or personal training sessions.

  3. The team at Joyful Movement and Jolly Steps by Shane Warren Coaching & Counselling Services recommend all participants check with their health physicians and complete a par-q health screen or similar prior to taking part in any sessions or classes.

  4. When purchasing any packages for classes you agree that you have no medical conditions that may affect your ability to train.

  5. Your instructor is fully insured.

  6. If your health changes at any time during your time with the team at Joyful Movement and Jolly Steps by Shane Warren Coaching & Counselling Services, you must provide information and the details in writing.

  7. The team at Joyful Movement and Jolly Steps by Shane Warren Coaching & Counselling Services commit to providing correct and most recent information always in all classes, workshops, and personal training sessions.

  8. The team at Joyful Movement and Jolly Steps by Shane Warren Coaching & Counselling Services will sometimes take photographs/video footage for marketing purposes; if you have an objection to this, please inform us at the time.

  9. All fees and charges are subject to periodic increases, and we reserve the right to change the costs of our services at any point. Prior notice will be given if this occurs.

Payment Policy

  1. All personal training, workshops, and classes must be booked and paid for in advance via the Online Booking System.

  2. Payment for packages and classes will be taken immediately.

  3. A fixed-class package is for exercise classes excluding special events and unlimited is any amount.

  4. Pay-as-you-go Classes can be bought for specific booked class and is non-refundable.

  5. All packages for classes have a 4-week expiry unless otherwise stated.

  6. All personal training sessions, workshops, and classes follow a 24-hour cancellation policy.

  7. No refunds are issued for classes or packages of classes, personal training, or workshops.

  8. Classes cannot be carried over from one block to another unless under exceptional circumstances.

  9. In the event of a class being canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, you will have the session credited back to you.

  10. Packages and sessions cannot be transferred to anyone else.

 

General class information

  1. Sessions run in all weather conditions throughout the year unless otherwise advised. Please make sure you have the correct clothing/footwear to add to your comfort and personal safety.

  2. Bring water to keep hydrated.

  3. In sunny conditions be aware of the need to wear sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses if appropriate for the exercise regime.

  4. Insect repellent at certain times of the year may be required, please apply following all safety instructions detailed by the manufacturer of the product.  Do not use if not safe to use if you are subject to allergies.

  5. The format of each session starts with a warmup, main work sets followed by a cool down.

  6. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to the start of the session. Time lost due to late starters will not be made up at the end of the session.
